Ralph Scannell Jr. is a seasoned financial services executive with more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry. He serves as the Senior Strategy Leader at City National Bank of Florida, where he is responsible for the development of multi-year transformation strategies to grow City National Bank’s Private Banking and Wealth Management arm, City National Private, as well as Business and Personal Banking, Wholesale Banking, Association Banking, Residential Mortgage, Capital Markets and International Banking. Ralph has a robust understanding of modern banking and possesses the vision to identify innovative solutions that drive profitable growth.

Prior to joining City National Bank of Florida in early 2022, Ralph held a variety of banking leadership roles with increasing levels of responsibility. Most recently he spent his last 12 years at a Global Bank based in New York with a proven track record of utilizing a client-centric approach for sales growth while spearheading end to end operational improvements to eliminate inefficiencies, improve client experience and reduce operating costs. Roles included US Head of Payments and FX during which Ralph developed and executed the US Payment strategy inclusive of full client / product lifecycle building a consistent multichannel digital led experience. Prior, Ralph was the US Head of Propositions and Lending for Business Banking where he launched the US Small Business Brand by creating / implementing / executing business strategy inclusive of target client, defining the proposition, building the product range and E2E client experience.

Ralph is active in the community, giving back both time and treasure. He previously served on the board of Academy of Finance, was a committee member for Consumer Bankers Association Deposits and Payments and for the employee resource group (ERG) Balance. Currently, Ralph serves on City National Bank’s Onyx ERG, a resource group committed to continue improving diversity and inclusion across the organization.

Ralph received his degree from the Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University.
